The MAKSUTOV-CASSEGRAIN models excel for high-power, high-resolution Lunar and Planetary work. Their compact tubes make them particularly convenient to transport and set up.
Focusing is achieved by moving primary mirror (with zero image shift). Standard 2" outer thread for connection of adapters and accessories from other manufacturers. Telescope OTA 100% metal construction - painted cream-white - with computer-optimised knife-edge internal baffling for maximum image contrast.
System optical quality minimum 1/6th Wavefront p.t.v. with High Transmission coatings on all optical surfaces, the Mirror surfaces have 95% reflectivity and the Meniscus lens is also multi-coated. Dovetail rail (Vixen/Synta type) & Mounting Plate with 3/8" threaded holes. EQ5 Equatorial Mount or Higher, recommended. Supplied with Transportation Handle & Protective Carrying Case.
