These binoculars incorporate Canon's unique Image Stabilising technology enabling a steady image. Ideal for a wide variety of purposes, these binoculars have the same mechanical and construction benefits as the 15x50IS model, a powerful magnification of 12x36, plus a closest focussing distance of 6 metres. With a field of view of 87m at 1,000m, unusually wide for binoculars of this high magnification, the 12x36IS will particularly appeal to bird watchers and sailors.
Canon's Image Stabilization (IS) technology is so effective, it will seem as if your binoculars are fixed to a sturdy support. Within two thousandths of a second of being shaken off the optical axis by vibrations, the IS mechanism swings into action to correct the incoming light path by precisely the right amount, effectively eliminating hand shake and delivering a steady image. Your binoculars can even be used for viewing from a moving vehicle. The super efficient IS system gives you 4 hours of continuous use off a single set of batteries.
