The SPHINX Equatorial mount has been developed with the most up-to-date mount engineering available for high speed automatic location of celestial objects, which allows you to explore all the beauty of the night's sky with ease! It comes standard with built-in motors and the world's first star-chart go-to controller, STAR BOOK, with large colour LCD screen, which can achieve highly accurate automatic location and tracking of celestial objects. The SPHINX's design is exceptional and the exterior styling is equally attractive.
The main features of the SPHINX SXW Equatorial Mount are the two built in motors that allow for improved motion of the polar axis rotation and reduce the need for heavy counterweights. The counterweight shaft is stored inside the mount for convenience.
An optional internally illuminated polar axis scope can be easily threaded into the mount body.
The innovative STAR BOOK hand controller offers astronomical navigation with a large full-colour LCD screen! The colour screen is a detailed star chart that acts as a navigational and GOTO guide for the mount. It's features include: Large colour liquid crystal display. (4.7 inch, 320x420 pixels, 4096 colours)
With the STAR BOOK (Star-Chart Go-To Controller) You can simply aim a telescope, mounted on the SPHINX, at any celestial object by clicking on the LCD panel. The LCD panel offers a a comfortable 4.7-inch screen (320X240 pixels) with 4096 colours. The STAR BOOK comprises of an ultra-high-speed CPU internally which is an 32bit RISC processor, CS89712 (ARM720T Core), 75MHz clock-speed with 8MB SDRAM and 4MB Flash ROM. ((L)195mmx(W)145mmx(H)28mm.
