Well, there’s always room for improvement. In this case, about .00001%. An uncoated lens will reflect about 4% of the light that attempts to pass through it. Magnify that by as many ten internal lenses and uncoated optics will produce a very dim image in even the brighest situation. A lens coating can reduce reflection to as little as 1.5%,and sophisticated multiple coatings to as little as 0.5%. So, if properly applied, the more anti-reflection coatings applied to more exposed surfaces, the better and brighter the final image will be. All Elite binoculars are fully mutli-coated with XTR, which means every lens surface is treated with multiple coats of anti-reflection layers for the brightest of images imaginable.
