The MAKSUTOV-NEWTONIAN design combines the best features from a Newtonian Reflector and a Maksutov-Cassegrain to create a telescope design that provides truly stunning image quality, similar to that achieved with Apochromatic Refractors, but at a fraction of the cost.
Focusing is achieved by 2" Low-Profile Crayford focuser with 1.25" adaptor. Telescope OTA 100% metal construction with computer-optimised knife-edge internal baffling for maximum image contrast. Secondary mirror obstruction 22% of diameter. Pyrex mirrors with 95% reflectivity.
System optical quality typically between 1/5th and 1/6th Wavefront p.t.v. with High Transmission coatings on all optical surfaces.
